·         To harness the good in each one of us
·         To make #BeGood a global movement
·         Stand up acts by young and dynamic artists to spearhead the #BeGood movement #ForHer
Open Sky Festivals, the festival vertical of Marketing Solutions -an experiential marketing and design agency - launched a one-of-its-kind platform #BeGood to self-discovery to harness the goodness that resides in each of us.
The first chapter of this journey had a number of prominent faces sharing their views and urging the young to listen in to their inner voices at the thought-provoking event organized at the Nehru Park, #ForHer. The event featured performances by the well-known Angad Singh Ranyal, Tanya Nambiar and Prateek Kuhaad.
Besides many Bellwood celebrities viz., Tisca Chopra, Manoj Bajpayee, Rannvijay Singh, Tapsee Pannu and others, endorsing the initiative and recording a one-minute video in support of the movement, the BeGood Philosophy was also launched after which Appreciation Awards were given away. The Triple Talaq crusader Shayara Bano and VP- IOL Sunaina Kumar shared some of their thoughts with massive audience that had gathered since 5 pm and stayed on till late evening.
Shayara Bano who was felicitated by Joint Commissioner of Police- Delhi Range, Ajay Choudhary said,” The Muslim women in India have faced many hurdles and discrimination by and there was an urgent need to have a concrete law to make amends. I am glad I fought for injustice of Triple Talaq against women that has always been exploited by Muslim men, and, now, at least, there is some dignity that women can enjoy.”
For Sunaina Kumari, who was earlier President-Indian Lawn Bowls Federation, was also felicitated by Mr. Choudhary; it was a big challenge to be the only woman in the Indian Olympic Association. She too is a rare achiever who was successful in breaking the glass ceiling. “There is nothing that women cannot do or achieve. With a little bit of support, we could do anything,” she said.
The thought behind such a unique initiative was to collectively seek to make 'goodness' a way of life. Since within every human being lies the potential for goodness, and a desire to be a force of positive change, there is an urgent need to put aside the negatives vibes that may manifest from any corner, and urge others to do ‘the right thing.’ Or, pay heed to the internal voice that would guide our actions and chart out a path of righteousness.
Poonam Lal, Director OSFL and a Believer of the #BeGood Tribe explained, “We believe that there is good in everyone, we are just getting together to find it, it is as simple as this. Be Good is a community of like-minded people who goad you to walk the right side of humanity. I do believe strongly that if we are a part of a community that believes in staying in touch with the good side, and allow a lot of life-altering things to happen.”
The event, which was the starting point of that journey, and aimed to create a young and educated voice of a global citizen that, draws out people to come and herald this as a movement of compatible minds and voices, and thus amplify the good within us all.
Panasonic, the consumer durables giant which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, supported the #ForHer initiative in-line with its global vision – ‘A Better Life, A Better world'.
#ForHer was a non-ticketed free event open to all age groups.
